Yelling ‘Brooksie’ at Bryson DeChambeau Can Now Get Fans Kicked Out of a PGA Tour Event


The confrontation between Bryson DeChambeau and an oiled-up heckler Sunday at the BMW Championship was only noteworthy for DeChambeau’s response in the heat of the moment. He’s been called “Brooksie” any number of times in the last few months during his tug-of-war with Brooks Koepka.

But PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan has drawn a line in the sand and is daring anyone to cross it. Yelling “Brooksie” at DeChambeau or other as-yet-to-be-named insults could get you tossed from a Tour event. Kroger, P&G sponsor Kenwood Country Club event


Top-tier professional golf is returning to Greater Cincinnati in 2022 with the inaugural Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G, a  Ladies Professional Golf Association event to be contested at the recently renovated Kenwood Country Club.

Scheduled for Sept. 5-11, 2022, this will be the fourth national-level tournament hosted at Kenwood – 1933 U.S. Amateur, PGA Tour’s 1954 Western Open and 1963 Women’s U.S. Open.

The purse for the event will be $1.75 million; the LPGA Tour paid out a record $76.45 million in purses for the 2021 season.

Will Zalatoris earns Rookie of the Year honors


PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Will Zalatoris started the PGA Tour’s 50-event super season on the Korn Ferry Tour.

He didn’t win a PGA Tour event in the 2020-21 campaign.

He didn’t get into the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Yet he did something no one has done for 20 years.

Zalatoris will receive the Arnold Palmer Award as the PGA Tour’s Rookie of the Year for the 2020-21 season, it was announced Monday. As voted by his peers, Zalatoris becomes the first non-member of the PGA Tour to win the award since Charles Howell III did so in 2001.

Billy Horschel won the 2021 BMW Championship at Wentworth.

Billy Horschel won the European Tour’s BMW Championship at Wentworth.

Billy Horschel felt aggrieved this week at the manner in which he missed out on a place in the U.S. team for the Ryder Cup.

So he took down a bunch of leading Europeans by himself.

Horschel birdied Wentworth’s storied 18th hole after an approach shot that spun back to inside 2 feet, securing a closing 7-under 65 and a one-shot victory at the BMW PGA Championship on Sunday.

David Toms beats Dicky Pride in playoff to win inaugural event on PGA Tour Champions


ST. LOUIS – David Toms beat Dicky Pride with a par on the first hole of a playoff Sunday in the PGA Tour Champions’ inaugural Ascension Charity Classic.

Toms hit his approach in the playoff on the par-4 18th to the middle of the green and two-putted from 18 feet. Pride’s approach went to the right into a greenside bunker and he couldn’t get a 16-footer for par to fall.

The 54-year-old Toms scrambled for par on the 18th in regulation after driving left into a fairway bunker. He shot a 5-under 66 to finish at 10-under 203 on Norwood
