VisitScotland’s flagship iCentre on Dumfries’ Whitesands is at the heart of the drive to encourage tourists and visitors alike to enjoy all that the region has to offer.

After months of lockdowns and Covid-19 restrictions, the move into Level One and the start of the school summer holidays in a fortnight’s time is expected to bring both a tourism boost to the region and to encourage more locals to enjoy a “staycation” and to explore what’s on their doorstep.

Stump Cross Caverns opened its doors on Monday, welcoming the first visitors Marie and Tim Taylor, who toured the caves and ate at the popular Time Out Café following a recommendation from Pateley Bridge Tourist Information.

MI Welcome Centers Will Resume Tourist Information Services This Weekend

Following extended closures due to the coronavirus pandemic, you can once again make more than just a pit stop at Michigan’s Welcome Centers as they will resume tourist information services just in time for the Memorial Day weekend ahead.
